Allison Smith

Allison has been captivated by the mysterious, the spooky, and the strange ever since childhood, thanks in no small part to some deliciously creepy acquisitions from the Scholastic Book Fair. Her thirst for reading became a passion for academia, leading her to a degree in psychology to satisfy her analytical side and later pursuit of a master’s in library science, honing her research skills and allowing her to lean further into her love of history. Several personal encounters with the unexplained leave no question about the existence of a world beyond our own, and she is keen to begin an investigative adventure with Great State Paranormal. In recent years, Allison has deepened her study and practice of astrology, witchcraft, tarot, and other forms of divination, further embracing her intuitive side. A deeply empathic person—something misunderstood in her youth — Allison is eager to now channel that sensitivity into her work with GSP.

Allison works as a docent for Körner’s Folly, a Victorian house museum in her hometown of Kernersville. She has recently joined the board of the Kernersville Historic Preservation Society, and will also soon join the Community Engagement Committee of the Forsyth County Historic Resource Commission.
